It’s capital is Dangriga, most of it’s populations is Garifuna or Black Caribs. Some the most important beaches are loated here, Placencia , Seine Bight, Maya beach and Hopinks. Also the Maya Centre and the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sannctuary.

The population of the Stann Creek District is 28,900 (2004 according to City Population website ).

It has an extension of 986 square miles (2,554 square km).

Dangriga has a population of 10,400.
