It is the located in the north, 95 miles from Belize City (153 km), and borders with México. It’s capital is Corozal Town. The ruins of Santa Rita an Cerros are located nearby, as well as the Shipstern Wildlife Reserve and Sarteneja, a place for lobsters an pineapples. The population of Corozal District is 35,000 (2004 according to City Population website ). It has an extension of 718 square miles (1,860 square km). It's capital is Corozal City with a population of 8,600.
